Salvation; an outward expression of an inward faith
...and a turning away from sin. Jesus Himself declared that salvation has arrived, . Mark 1:15 - "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel."
"Salvation begins with a heartfelt belief in Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour. Verbally expressing what's on the heart, confirms the belief".
If you need help to pray... Lord please lead them to Salvation
Heavenly Father, as we approach Your Throne of grace and mercy today, we thank You for Your loving kindness and gift of prayer. I ask Lord that you speak to hearts and minds. I pray that You lead the lost to see their need for You and Your saving salvation that offers love, security, peace and joy with a promise of eternal life. I ask that You bring them to repentance for their past, current and hidden sins and give them the words necessary to declare Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.
Will You give them a new heart and spirit, one that can see who You really are, one that wants to seek You and Your righteousness.
You tell us in Your Word Lord, the Gospel message, that if we repent of our sins and confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord. And if we believe that You raised Your Son from the dead in three days, we will be saved.
In Jesus's name, I pray, amen.
Romans 10:9 - If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
What being saved is;
Being saved is a life changing event -
but it's only the beginning of a life time
process encompassing sanctification
and change. It's about the gift of
Salvation, being saved from our sin
and the offer of eternal life in Heaven
with a new sin free body that never
ages, is never sick or dies.
It's about a change of heart - something that God initiates and stirs within us, an inward reflection and realisation that we are sinful, a desire to turn from our sin and recognition of our need for a Saviour. It isn't something that 'we' do. Because of our uniqueness, God uses different ways and means to reach us.
It's about acknowledging that there is a God - and that He sent His Son Jesus into this world as a living sacrifice, to take the punishment that we deserve for our sin by dying on the cross.
It's about believing that Jesus defeated death - that God raised Him up back to life in three days and that this same power will also resurrect us who believe, from death. This is central to Christianity, it is our blessed hope.
It's about thanking Jesus for all that He's done for us - and from our hearts of gratitude, we ask Him to come into our lives, to be our Lord and Saviour.
The hidden deception and dangers of 'The Sinners Prayer'
What being saved isn't;
Being saved isn't a guarantee of eternal bliss if our hearts intention is to continue living in sin. As much as He loves us, God hates sin. It destroys us and other people.
"It isn't about a prayer you said one time. Its about the one time you repented and you continue to repent."
~ P Washer
What actually is repentance?
Repentance in the Bible involves a complete change of heart and mind, leading to different actions (Acts 26:20). Repentance recognizes that our sin is offensive to God. To repent is to make an about-face, a heart-directed turn away from self to God. ~ gotquestions.org
